This is Brazilian timpani, typically rhythm, proving the initial melody.  Layering up from there with some atmosphere, the electric guitar – Telecaster style – cutting in with an awesome melody.  Myers breaks it down in the way Kanye West producers would do it, with some broad flat grit.  This needs a light show.
